A few weeks ago, as the Autumn colors were just starting to change, my in-laws drove up from Paris and we took them on a scenic drive to visit Le Bec-Hellouin, recently voted one of the most beautiful villages in France. Bec Abbey was absolutely gorgeous and the quaint village did not disappoint!
If you know me, you know how much I love long nature walks. Every season brings a symphony of colors and textures that ravish my soul and help re-establish balance for this busy, frazzled, tired mama. And now with Autumn here, my eyes and soul just can’t get enough of the colors everywhere. I don’t want to miss a thing and I’m just wishing that Autumn would last forever….
Thank heavens for cameras! Here are a few of my photos. Enjoy!
I’ve got this thing for tree tunnels.
The church of Saint André.
Lovely foliage infused with light and sprinkled with a dusting of changing colors.
I am so grateful for my family that is always willing to come on these walks.
What greater gift can you ask for than a precious little boy who shares all his treasures with you?
But beware this treasure is not edible! It’s actually called a horse chestnut and is very poisonous if eaten. I love the non-poisonous kind of chestnuts, roasted, steaming hot, and wonderfully delicious, but not this one!
The Saint Nicholas Tower.
I’ve also got a thing for roses, especially roses in rustic settings.
A typical Normand house in the village.
Every last detail. Red roses. Pretty touches of color and beauty everywhere.
Another quaint abode. It’s for rent! Furnished! Any takers?
And finally, when I grow up, I want to have a pretty mailbox, just like this one.
How about you? Do you have a favorite place you like to go to see the Autumn colors?
